Here comes my newest member to my camera family. Minolta 50mm f1.7. I bought it as a secondhand from newly met friends from Cyberjaya on 26th July 2010. Thanks to him, i got free HOYA HMC 49mm filter, which is so hard to find nowadays.
Most reference were saying that this lens is a must for a photographer, thus i so i had my chance to bring this gem to my trip to Jakarta & Bandung to test it.
And here are some shots with this lens:
daylight indoor with f1.7.. very shallow depth of field
another daylight with fluorescent lighting, f 1.7
night indoor, f 1.7
indoor portraiture, with minimum focal distance of 450mm
another indoor daylight portraiture
late evening macro shot on flowers
night landscape, f22 on tripod
my nephew, on iso3200
As a result, this lens has been my favourite, so far. i really like the sharpness, autofocus speed and it is lightweight.
In contra, this lens has some built in hood which i think no value added to it. and of course, with is 50mm focal length, its just serve you enough space for 1 subject, not like any wide angle prime, which is my next target.:)
